Photograph of Nikolsky Cathedral bell tower, digitally enhanced with textures,
St. Nicholas Naval Cathedral is a major baroque Orthodox cathedral in the western part of Saint Petersburg (Russia). The marine regimental church was built on the bank of the Kryukov Canal in 1753-1762 to a design by Savva Chevakinsky.

A graceful bell tower overlooks the canal, which is crossed by the Staro-Nikolsky bridge (from this bridge, you can see at least seven bridges, more than from any other spot in the city).
